Police investigating after New York GOP headquarters in Albany vandalized
Police are investigating after the New York GOP's Albany headquarters were vandalized, according to NY-21 Rep. Elise Stefanik's office.In an email, Stefanik showed pictures of the vandalism, with swastikas taped onto the front of the building as well as a sign that reads, "If this is not what you stand for, prove it."Stefanik blamed the incident on a so-called "radical leftist" and called for the "vicious criminal" responsible to be prosecuted.Other New York GOP leaders — including Chair Ed Cox, Senate Republican Leader Rob Ortt, and Assembly Republican Leader Will Barclay — condemned the incident and called for Democratic leaders to speak out against hate speech.The incident comes in the wake of reports that Stefanik is allegedly eyeing a run for governor in the 2026 midterm election.
