“To support Oklahoma residents who have been displaced from their homes by the recent wildfires, Airbnb.org is offering free, temporary housing in partnership with Heartline 211. Stays are completely free for guests and are funded by Airbnb.org and the generosity of Airbnb hosts,” officials wrote in the post.
The department said there are several steps to receive assistance:
- Call 211 and request temporary housing through Airbnb
- Heartline 211 call takers will verify your address using wildfire damage maps provided by the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management
- Once your address is verified, Heartline 211 call takers will submit your information to Airbnb
- Airbnb will reach out to you and help find an Airbnb stay that works for you
