President: “Ukraine do not have enough forces on eastern front. With increased arms supplies, we can stop Russia”

It takes months from the moment the aid is approved by the US Congress and Europe to the moment it is delivered to the frontline. So far, the amount of support is less than what was voted for.

Ukraine did not have enough forces in the east of the country. The situation in Avdiyivka, Pokrovsk and other areas is really difficult, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said at a briefing in Kyiv.

Kyiv is pressing its partners to increase the supply of weapons. Only with more weapons will Ukraine be able to take the initiative from Russia in the east.

"With an increase in the supply of weapons, we will be able to stop them in the east," he said.

Ukraine has an understanding of the number of brigades it needs, how many people need to be withdrawn to give them a rest, what weapons are needed and in what quantity.

"Manned brigades must go in. Mechanised brigades, powerful brigades," the President added.

It takes months from the moment the aid is approved by the US Congress and Europe to its delivery to the frontline. Currently, the amount of support is less than what was voted for, the president said.

He added that Russia has seized the moment to increase its troops in the east and north, particularly in Kharkiv Region.
